I know it's a simple fix but, how do you measure points for a plane at a specific diameter? Also, if measuring a plane using quickfeatures, how do I keep the machine from moving all over the place to take the points and force it to take all of the points in a single revolution.
I think quick features need to be set up in the strategy editor before you use them. Auto plane is not very user friendly. I use auto where i'm probing a face on a cylinder so that I can adjust the XYZ of the autoplane to where I want it.
The quick thing to do is to use auto vector points and then construct a plane out of them. You can use avoidance moves with them to help maneuver around your part. You can also paste with pattern a vector point around an axis and then construct a plane there as well.
If auto plane doesn't work for whatever reason, you can always use auto vector points and pattern it at a specified radius from the center of the alignment in relatively short order before constructing a plane with the pattern you just created.
