tip approach vector

got this part running

clearance cube set to -X approach and retract for the probe tip

the middle rows of holes work out just fine

but im trying to probe the upper rows of holes and the tip is trying to approach from the +X direction

thoughts??

and please dont say "just give up on the clearance cube"!! ive found it very useful :-)

  • Instead of independently opening each feature, it may be helpful to review your similar features in the edit window using command mode.
    By all means switch back to summary after your review for normal running, but you can see more information in a glance using command mode which could help yield your solution faster.

    I haven't worked with CC and have no desire to. Hope you find what settings are causing your issue.

    command mode has its place, imo, and it is useful for doing some things that cant be done in summary mode.

    cc works for me because i work in a development lab and often dont need to run complete programs so the ability to mask features and characteristics and run a partial program without worrying about what potential crashes move points may create saves me lots of time.

    its always interesting to me that creative people say things like "im not interested in learning more" but on some level i understand that. what id like to avoid is the "my way is best" conversation and focus our time on solutions.

    if you dont have a solution, i dont understand the need to share that here. but thanks for your time anyway

    And this may be the case for utilizing command mode to review your issue, IMO. This was not any sort of 'my way vs your way', merely that you explained you have already made attempts and those attempts were not getting you the success you were looking for. Typically, that would mean you NEED to do something else. Good luck with your issue.
