Trying to measure the true position of the .576 +/-.008 dimension. I have attempted to create a center line from the 2 lines, but don't trust my results. I am using PD-DMIS 2019 and using Xact measure to dimension it.
I'd measured both keyway surfaces as planes along their full extent and construct a width. Make sure you include the .010 position on datum feature B with respect to A beforehand in your program to properly compute the MMB of datum B.
I was measuring it as a profile. Based on the view indicating where the true positions are located.
for example the o.d. dimension shows that it needs to .01 to datum "A" the walls for those features are small. I use a .5 mm probe just to measure a point.
I'd measured opposing points on the keyway walls using your 0.5mm probe, constructing midpoints along the way, and constructing a plane from those midpoints to establish datum A. The keyway itself is wide enough to measure a width established from planar features.
