True position of sphere

Hello! i'm new to this forum and only have cad lvl2 training. i'm insectiing the simple part, 11.7mm diameter cylinder with tapering spherical tip that has a diameter of 1.3mm. cylinder is datum A and the flat face of the cylinder is datum B.

How does the software calculate the TP of the sphere? How does the 69.350 dimension(distance from datum B) come into this calculation?
Any explanation is really appriciated.

Is your alignment that you are showing the " location " in represent the same alignment as A-B Level to A, X and Y 0.0 on A and Z 0.0 on B ? ( what is actually x / y / or z isnt really relevant )

You should change the tolerance zone to a spherical shape and the position will be calculated the standard way using X and Y deviations from datum A (how centered it is) and Z deviation from datum B (how far it is).

The 69.350 comes from the basic (70) minus the sphere radius (1.3/2=0.65)
70-0.65=69.35 !

The difference between FCFLOC 3 and LOC46 could come from the alignment.
B is a plane perp to A, tangent on the free side of material.
In your alignement, if you use the intersected point between the plane (LS for example) and the cylinder axis, this point can be very different than A|B (taking into account flatness and perpendicularity)

My main question is how did the software calculate the true position to .017 to A|B. if i use the formula, it should be around .400. This morning, I switch the workplane to Y and got the true position as .414. does that mean, i was wrong the first time by inspecting it in the Z plus workplane?
