New Style Probe Rack CMM Not Clearing Lids

Good Morning,

Just installed a new probe rack to a CMM that used to have a probe rack. This is the HR-MP6 for touch trigger probes. I calibrated my master tip and then calibrated the rack. Assigned probes to slots and the ran a test probe that cycled the probes in and out of the slots.

The only issue I have is that when the CMM drops off a probe and goes to load the next one, Its too high and tries to go through the lid to grab the probe. I pushed all the lids back and cycled through the probes and no issues. Obviously I want the lids closed. I installed of these racks before on another CMM and I didn't' have this issue then.

Does anyone else have any ideas?

Thanks.

  • the bottom of that post explains the z height was off by the radius of the probe used to calibrate the rack... Please open F1 and dig into all the steps to calibrate that specific rack.  It might define a specific probe to use.

TP20's generally mandate a 2x20 probe, since this probe system is an offshoot of that Renishaw design, I presume it's not going to be much different.
