I had something odd happen the other day when making a program. I imported my cad, did my basic transforming to align it the way I would be holding it. After the first alignment I noticed that the head of my cmm in the graphical window was no long perpendicular but at a weird angle. I went through and checked my alignments and couldn't see anything wrong. Iv attached a picture and a copy of my code. 

Any help would be appreciated

  • To answer your question: When done correctly a read point or single point alignment translates the origins, it does not change the rotation. The difference being you rotated the alignment and you did so without leveling the part. You are free to set origins of you axes in an alignment before leveling or rotating with little to no issues but you should never rotate an alignment before you level it, this will often cause issues as you are seeing now. It is also recommended when using 1D or 2D features in an alignment, that you use a progressive alignment.
