what are yalls best tips for finding new pc-dmis cmm programmers?
in the past we've found it pretty difficult to find qualified cooperative people... i'm hoping yall have some "best practices" to share with us.
we have an immediate opening for a direct hire, full time position working in a gage lab primarily doing FAIs but also creating/troubleshooting production programs in greenville, south carolina.

Thats an interesting question. Other than verifying their resume and work habits align with your expectations, have some practical examples they can hold in their hand explain how they are going to accomplish programming it. Better yet, once you have proven them worth of your time, hand them a sample part and sit them down in from of a computer for 15 minutes to program it (don't give them any warning beforehand) and see what they do. Either they will be able to bang out features and alignments and some dimensions, or they wont.
In the past I had a box of scrap parts with their drawings under my desk so I could just pull one out and hand it to them, either measure with hand tools or explain how they were going to check it.
Sadly I myself am still waiting for that unicorn job of "remote PC-DMIS programmer" so I can work full time from home.
