SCAN STRIPS and color maps

I just hired on at a place that uses a laser scan (HPL5.8). I have never received any training on this but have done well so far figuring out the details but missing so of the finer points. The previous few programmers used color maps and I started with a nice color map but have since done something (I don't know) so that the scan strips show up starting at the alignment all the way to the end of the code. Despite my best efforts to show the color map and hide the strips, I'm still where I started. All I have figured out at this point is to change the colors of them. We are running 2022.2

Any takers? Are there already threads covering this....provide a link part? I can't believe no one knows this answer

I believe there may be threads related to Point color maps. Have you looked in the help documentation here?

I just realized after I shared that help file with you, the first thing I would check is that show/hide color map section and try that.

Are the scan strips you're talking about the generated points from the laser scan? The ones that are by default a kind of bluish color, but start pink while scanning? I forget if colormap takes priority over those scans, I believe it does. You can always try to right click in graphics display window and hide all features. It's been a while since I did a laser scan colormap.

Yes, gut their default color is black and they're all over the part. I figured out how to change them white, but that's about it

Just did a test colormap on the Hexblock, and put the tolerances to 0, and it went from green to red. Have you tried creating new colormaps? I don't have time to do an actual laser scan, but I can find an old program and use the data to see if it's different.
