laptop for PCDMIS PORTABLE?

Hi,

I just got a used 3000i Romer arm, it came without laptop and software. Can you recommend a good laprop for PCDMIS Portable (CAD++), also I need to know if WinRDS and PCMIS can run on Windows Vista.

  • A Dell Vostro 1520 (or 1720 if you want the 17" screen) upgraded to 4 gig ram and a dedicated video card will work.
If you've got the cash, a Dell Precision with the same upgrades (if it's not standard) is great. You'd probably end up spending half what you paid for the arm itself with the Precision. The 3000i's can't be too expensive anymore.

Not sure about Vista, but you can always call Romer and ask. They can answer that question, I'm sure.
