Getting Started

Hi guys,
Could anyone enlighten me on how to:
construct a probe with a 25 mm offset using a 1.5cc reflector.
Also how to delete unwanted probes, all in pc-dmis.
We are using LEICA LASER TRACKER if that helps,

  • Hi Ted -

Apparently most of us here in the Portable CMM forum are Romer users. I will hazard a couple of guesses at your question so you don't feel ignored. Slight smile

The way I understand is that PC-DMIS Portable is the same as PC-DMIS Stationary(?) but they turn on a few features specific to the original application. If you have a stationary CMM they load the definitions for all the normal stationary probing, i.e. PH9/10, TESA Star, all the touch probes and styli, etc. For a Romer application, they only load the tips and probes that are configurable on a Romer arm. I suspect they did the same for you, supplied the definitions of the configurable "probes" that you would use on the Leica.

What I am saying is that, if you can build it for your system it should already be available in the pull downs where you build your probes. If your
    25 mm offset using a 1.5cc reflector
is something that is standard, just pull down the menu and build it. If this is something special from Hexagon you should have got a CD with the probe that will define it for PC-DMIS.

To delete probes, go to the PC-DMIS directory and find the *.prb file that you want to delete. Have at it. Astonished

Please recognize that my experience does not include laser tracker. I am speaking from a PC-DMIS Portable position. Hope that helps...

What are you measuring with that cool rig?Smiley
