Is it possible to pull dimensions from a scanned cloud of points
without having a CAD model loaded? Generate a plane, line, point etc, align to it and pull dimensions? How do select individual points?
Yeah, Phil from Exact was sweeping the area today and yesterday setting up newly purchased arms and he stopped in today. He answered a lot of my questions, this being one of them. I thought you had to have a model up to use autofeatures, so I never tried it. Not the case, that is how you do it. Not sure why I thought that, I did a autofeature on a drilled hole last week that wasn't on the model, I just manually put the nominals in.
After Phil's visit today, starting to feel a little more comfortable with this PC-dmis stuff, I just finished up two layouts at home that I was stuck on before, just becasue I'm not familiar enough with this software yet, but it's getting better.
Although I did stump him two questions. One being on a colormapping of a part. The model disappears when I face colormap it and I don't get a colormap. He didn't have an answer for that and took a copy of the file to forward on to an applications guy.
