Are Faro romer arms self calibrating?

We have a Faro arm that the operator showed me has a feature that tells that the tip is in calbration. Now I know very little about this but is it possible? If you need more info to answer just let me know. I will do my best.
Thanks in advance

  • When I asked him what he used to run a probe/tip calibration, he told me it was already calibrated, it does it itself. I told him I was used to a sphere and he said that when it runs he has to move it in a pre determined path and once that happens it comes up calibrated. Thats probably not the whole picture but it seemed so foreign to me that I just moved on to my other duties. Looks like I will never get to 'play' with the Faro arm here.
    oh well..
