Point Clouds

Did some scanning last week. Had 2 pointclouds in the program. I exported both point clouds (one at a time) into XYZ files using the current alignment.

These point clouds pull into Geomagic just fine. I wanted to show something to someone today in the program, and one of the point clouds was empty. I did not empty it. It was still there when I saved the program after I exported both point clouds.

So, I tried to import the missing point cloud. It will not import into the correct location, as it it is off by almost 2000mm. I even tried using each alignment in the program, and NONE of them will import the point cloud into the right location.

What is going on with this?

  • Now if they will just fix that FREAKING ANNOYING BS of:
    Open Pcdmis
    File ~ new ~ <type in new program name & info>
and it automatically saving a totally blank, useless, worthless file of that name in the main program directory. You don't have to click on anything, and if you then do a SAVE-AS and put the program in your proper sub-directory, that freaking empty, useless, worthless file is STILL THERE in the main program directory. So, every time I make a new program I have to either:
    1) SAVE IT, then MOVE it to the location I want
    2) Change my program path everytime I want to make a new program
    3) SAVE-AS to the proper sub-directory then go a delete the empty, useless, worthless file that it made
That is SO D AMN annoying!

I do not know ANYONE that has all their programs in a single directory on their computer. Yeah, I guess it is possible, but who wants to look through hundreds if not thousands of programs for the one they want to open and run? Main program directory, then sub-directories for different parts.

Yeah, that blank, useless, worthless file is just that. If you click on it, Pcdmis 'blinks' and doesn't open anything, because there is nothing there!!!!
