"didn't work" is not an error message from PC-DMIS. What actual message did you get?
You don't have much arc of the two "circles" available - what method are you using to measure them?
Maybe the calculated circles don't intersect? Create a line from one circle to the other, create another line in the reverse direction. Pierce line/circle to get the two closest points.
The midpoint between those two is the best approximation you can get...
My apologies, didn't come back in to work until today. A) When I said it didn't work I didn't mean that it gave me an error just that the point that was created was no where near the right spot. It was way out in space for some reason. B) dph51, that worked. My points landed in the right spot and I'm able to measure them well. No, it's not much of an angle and I'm aware of those limitations. wouldn't have thought that a line center to center would put me where I needed to be but it does. Or at least close enough. Thank you.
your issue was the direction/vector of the line. piercing causes a point to appear where the line FIRST pierces the circle. Plenty of times, I've probed the line backwards and the point appears out in space.
sometimes I'll reprobe the line, sometimes I'll just construct a Reversed Line from the original and then a Pierce Point from the Reverse Line and Circle. Whichever you prefer.
No, the issue was trying to do an intersect of two circles. It doesn't like it or, like someone else said, they don't actually touch in the model. I understand the direction of a line issue and pierce points.
