your issue was the direction/vector of the line. piercing causes a point to appear where the line FIRST pierces the circle. Plenty of times, I've probed the line backwards and the point appears out in space.
sometimes I'll reprobe the line, sometimes I'll just construct a Reversed Line from the original and then a Pierce Point from the Reverse Line and Circle. Whichever you prefer.
