Mesh License?

I am new to PC-DMIS with the 3D scanner. I am likely missing something simple here.

How do you make a mesh instead of a point cloud?
I can scan things as a mesh bit as soon as the file is saved and re-opened it reverts back to a very un-sexy point cloud. (the engineers like sexy mesh models)

Google and the help file has said I just need to insert a mesh, which I do not have an option for?

This is what my HASP unlocks...

  • To get the mesh you would have to make a point cloud first. Out of that point cloud then you would create the mesh out of it by defining the settings based on your preference. I had to hide my model in order for the mesh to be clear and mess around with the settings until i got what i needed

  •             LOADPROBE/RS6
                TIP/TIP1, SHANKIJK=-0.003, -0.024, 1, ANGLE=-0.029
    COP1       =COP/DATA,TOTAL SIZE=3040878,REDUCED SIZE=2561666,
                REF=,
    COPCLEAN1  =COP/OPER,CLEAN,MAX DISTANCE=15,APPLY MAX ANGLE=NO,
                SIZE=2561666,REF=COP1,,
    COPCLEAN2  =COP/OPER,CLEAN,MAX DISTANCE=3,APPLY MAX ANGLE=YES,MAX ANGLE=20,
                SIZE=3040878,REF=COPCLEAN1,,
    COPFCOLORMAP1=COP/OPER,SURFACE COLORMAP,SHOW PARAMETERS=NO
                SIZE=2561666,REF=COPCLEAN2,,

    Thats what it looks like currently. I don't see anything relating to mesh, except on the actual scan widget.

    With CAD shown.

  • It looks like you dont have mesh on there just cloudpoint data. Go to Insert > Mesh > Feature

    Then click on the cloupoint you need to create a mesh for. Then play around with the settings until you get the mesh you desire, once you click apply you should be able to see the mesh data. For me once i hid the CAD model then i was able to have a clear mesh of what i needed.
