add page numbers 2013 sp2

Hi all,
I am trying to DD Pgwe numbers to my report, only I can't find out which report I a using. so I am making the change acroos the board.
Can anyone tell me how to find out which report my programs use?
I am adding a text box to the bottom of the report and then right clicking on it to change the properties.
I go to the text 1 and text 2 and left click to the right of the text property and it automatically fills in
with the page number and number of pages code. That didn't work. So I then put a check into the box to the left of the
word text and it came up with how i want to promt the operator. I do not want to prompt the operator. I just want page of X pages at the bottom of my reports.
Can any point me in the right direction to accomplish this?

Yes, I was able to figure it out.

Thank you.

My next project is to get the serial number from the operator and load it into the header and refresh the report. Sounds easy, but far from it.

but will that put the serial number into the header (header.lbl) and refresh the pasge if necessary?

No this don't

I no there is a way something with tracefield i think i will look in to it.

You can force pcdmis to re-evaluate header expression by editing the File_Header.lb template. You can add a TEXT object with the expression (text property) "=ElapsedTime()". Send that object to be behind the Header grid.
Pcdmis will see the expression, determines it needs to be done at end of execution and will re-generate the header label.

You could have looked at the TEXTONLY report to see how the page of pages is generated. A TEXT object has the expression "=Page() + " / " + Pages()".

When looking at the property in the template editor, the expression is displayed evaluated. If you click on the actual text the expression will be shown.

Example.
when I look at the property I see "1/1" but I click on it and will see "=Page() + " / " + Pages()" (without the "s).

I gigured it out. The text color was set to white so I couldn't see4 it. Si I set it to black and changed so it will print out X page of xx pages. I have the operator entering the serial number and it printing out on the report, but I want to clean up the look now by having it appear in the header where it says serial numbeer. fruedian slip there?

one more way

Edit the FILE_HEADER.LBL
In the space you want say SER NUMBER
Double click(will turn blue)
Right click(will open grid properties window)
In cell expression type =TRACEFIELD(1)
Click ok and save and close LBL

In your program where you want to ask the operator your question place this.

TRACEFIELD/DISPLAY,LIMIT=15 ; SER NUMBER : 1

this is tracefield(1) and so on tracefield(2) if you want more
If you want more or something different do the same to the rest of the fields.
Like
TRACEFIELD/DISPLAY,LIMIT=15 ; ORDER # : 123
TRACEFIELD/DISPLAY,LIMIT=15 ; OPERATOR : AL
And so on

JUST MAKE A COPY FIRST to fall back on.

In cell expression type =TRACEFIELD(1)

You may be 1 execute behind if the header is not re-evaluated. See my notes above to force re-evaluation.
