DataPage SPC with PC-DMIS Reporting

First off, just want to say thanks to everybody who contributes to this forum, I would be lost without it, so again thank you.
This time I would like to pose a question of my own, I rarely come across anything that hasn't been mentioned. And I have seen a few topics similar to this, one in particular, but it was back in 2009, and the link provided was dead...

So my question is: How are people (assuming others are) combining the SPC of DataPage and the reporting style of PC-DMIS? I am wondering if there is a way to do this...as little pain as possible. Catch: This is PCDMIS NC, therefore there are numerous reports coming in from different machines and the reports for PC-DMIS automatically run and send out PDF reports to each machine. For example to attach a run-chart from DataPage to the PCDMIS report.

Using DataPage Plus 2011MR1 and PCDMIS 2011 MR1.

At first I was thinking that I could just output an excel report from DataPage and insert that file right into PCDMIS, easy enough. However, it would appear that report delivery only allows one custom excel report output...

Is it possible to insert external command in each specific part program to a DataPage report? I feel this was possible with previous versions with a little macro programming... this was the method I saw in the earlier thread from 2009, not suprisingly with the guy who started this whole system.

Thoughts, questions, concerns?

  • Yes, that would pretty much do the job, but I don't have seats at each machine (11 total). I'm pretty sure only Web Reporter and Report Viewer don't need another seat. I have used the monitor here at my desk, which does work nicely (Flashing red! when things go awry). I believe Web Reporter is supposed to function similarly as a 'live' view of a report, but I don't have that feature just yet. Right now I'm looking to keep it simple with one report output if I can
