What database files to restore?

Ok I did it, was deleting some tranactions and must have done something stupid, all my data gone, the transactions show up but no data.
Can I restore some database files from Saturday's back to retieve the data?
if so which ones?
I tried the .mdf database file but that didn't do it. (must need to do something else to)
all other jobs are ok just the one I was working with.
  • I am ASSUMING that you have these files backed up someplace? If so, have you tried OPENING the database where the backups are?

    Can you even have more than 1 database with the NEW AND IMPROVED Datapage?

    Not sure if you can do that with the NEW AND IMPROVED Datapage or not, but you could with the older version. That way, IF all the database files are being backed up, it should just open what was backed up.
  • we do a network wide backup on Saturdays, I can tell the IT guy what files I need and he retrieves them for me.
    I tried the mdf database file (300 meg) and place that in the original folder after renaming the original.
  • One option you have is based on how you have DataImporter set up. If you have it set up to send the XML's to ForHandledFiles, you can go back in there and find the XML's from your run, copy and paste them back into the ForStatsFile and next time Importer runs, you will have your data back. Have you looked into this?
  • Sorry for the late response (vacation).
    No what I must have done is selected clear transactions value instead of delete transaction. But that doesn't explain why 10 transactions data just disappeared when I only had 1 selected? Basically lost all my data wtf.
    What if I get all my XML files from my back and copy into the forhandledfile folder?
  • As Roseanna Roseanna Dana would say, nevermind. I found the problem. I had to rename the features to get the coding to work (they originally had spaces). I found the renamed features and they are saving.
