I tried to set a new path to monitor, bad idea. I had to change it back but actually it did not saying my Root Element is missing; can someone explain what this is and how can I fix it? I have to manually input my path now each time I log in plus the Auto Check seems to work on it's own regardless what you try to do - not good for us.
Have you tried just exiting the importer and then re-starting it?
Did you change the path through the "Browse..." button? What happened when you changed it initially? Is the "Root Element" error from when you changed back to the original, or is it the error it gave when you tried to change it initially?
I've never changed the path after the initial set-up, but even when I have to change it for other users (the path is under my user profile), I have never had an issue. I am also only on DP+ 2011 MR1, so maybe it's a 5.0 thing.
Exiting out even tried to restart the computer and I keep getting the same error message. I have to change my path now ever time I log in (I have the Data Importer opening up in my start up) and the thing that bothers me most is the Auto check because no matter what I do it still checks like ever minute or so on it's own.
You need to make sure that the data import application is also running as administrator. If not you won't be able to make changes to the application properly.
