DataPage export

Forgive me if this has been asked before, but I can't locate it if it has.
My company is getting a new CMM, but did not order DataPage for it.
Can PC-Dmis export to datapage without having Datapage installed on that specific pc?
For example, CMM2 exports results to datapage database, but is only viewable on CMM1
which does have DataPage installed.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Point your DataImporter to a network location, Stats/Transfer from CMM to the same network location. Done. You have to use stats offline yes btw. Not an expert on DP but just recently played around with this subject it should work.

Ok, sounds good. I hope it works out that way. New CMM is over a month out, so it will be a little bit before I can try it.

Yes, my DataPage computer is not connected to either of my CMMs. The database is local to the 3rd computer, and both CMM computers have DataImporter pointing to the 3rd computer. We use the DataPageStats.exe external command, so no Stats ON/OFF stuff.

I have a question for you. We use external command as well to transfer the data to datapage. Now we first were transferring to datapage + 5.0 but we just got a new cmm and it cam with datapage+ 5.2. Do I just simply change the external command from 5.0 to 5.2? Or is there more to it to get the data to transfer?

I'm fairly certain that you don't even have to replace the DataImporter, but you might want to just to be safe. The data importer just puts the information into the database. So, install the new importer, make sure it points back to your database again, and you should be good to go.

The database is SQL, so it's not specific to DataPage. You just need to make sure your new DataPage installation is reading your current database, and that should be all set too.
