Sharing a data base with another user

Is it possible to copy a Datapage data base to a CD and send the data in Datapage format to another Datapage user?

I've just completed 6 piece layouts, 10-3-3 GRRs, and 30 piece cape studies on several parts for a customer. They're now asking for the data to be sent to them in "Data Page" format. Can I simply navigate to the data base, copy all files within the folder to a CD, and send that copy to my customer?

Thanks in advance...

  • Yes, you can just zip-up the entire directory and send it to them, they can then open the database. PROVIDING that they are using the same level of database that YOU are. At one point, they changed the database drastically, I think it was between V2x and V3x (where they are now). And, the old DOS database was different still.

Sounds like they want to make sure that you are not cheating. However, sending them the database isn't going to keep a person from cheating. Ya gotta know how to cheat to catch a cheater. Ya gotta know how to cheat to even be able to see if they cheated. And, there are some things that are d@mn hard to tell if it was cheated or not.

Had a part in here (Saturn) that had an SPC point directly on a net. We told them, they said check it anyway. When I reported the Ppk of 1,800,000+ (or some such outrageous number), they said we cheated. They came in, we had to run the entire study again with them watching and writting down numbers as they showed on the screen. Came up again with some outrageous number and we (ONCE AGAIN) pointed out that it was checking on a net surface. Then they went, "oh".
