error at transmitter signal

Leitz PMM866

When moving in y-axis, it halts abruptly and this message appears:
"Error at Transmmitter Signal Y-Axis"

Tried shutting down completely and re-booting, but to no avail. Machin still faults out, but not always in the same location.

Any suggestions?????
Circuit Board?
Cable connector?
Bad Karma?

The room temp was too high, (bean counters wanted to save money, so A/C was turned off room temp 77°) so we got the A/C running at the right temp. Let the CMM sit for a dy to normalize, and it seems to work ok. (For now at least).

Transmitter Error is for the Encoder/Scale. It had a problem reading the scale. We get it here in Louisiana if the Humidity is high on the floor.
