How can I describe a rotation bearing?

I would like to describe a rotation bearing in Patran. (Dynamic; Explicit Nonlinear) I already tried several kinds of displacements. But in all of them the solid (incl. density) either falls straight down or is fully constrained. (Please see the PDF attached) I would like the rod to be able to swing around the bearing.
How can I describe the desired displacement?
I uploaded rod.db of the Test1b.

Kind regards.

  • Thanks a lot.
I am pretty beginner, new to the forum and have a lot of basic questions, I kindly would like to ask you:

    1. What is SOL700 and what does it stand for?
    2. Why is SOL700 not supported anymore? And then why is there this official PDF from 2018? https://goo.gl/exUJsY
    3. When I choose the Analysis Code "MSC.Dytran", I can only chose the Analysis Type "Structural". Is that normal?
    4. How can I add any Inertial Load (gravity) like I did for Explicit Nonlinear?
    5. What do you mean by your last sentence "Therefore no complication between 6DOF nodes and 3DOF nodes of solids vs shells etc."?
    6. What is the "Rigid Reference Node" in "Select Application Region" for "Rigid Body Object"?
    7. Why do I not need to reference a certain Coord? What if I wanted to rotate around an axis which is not parallel to Coord 0?
    8. You added the Property "mass" (0D mass), what and "why" is it?

I am really looking forward to your answers. Smiley
    Kind regards.
