I have to install the interface for translation of geometry via *.step or *.igs format. During the PATRAN2018 installation I’m missing the option for installation of “coretech” translator. Under WINDOWS 10 there is no special request for certain option (interfaces). I have chosen installation full.
If you think those CAD access options haven't been installed, you can run the installer again and select the "Modify" option. Then you should see the various options available:
Anything that is already ticked is already installed.
The error message you're getting could possibly be due to something else, such as special characters in the name of the file. It may be worth running Patran with the -stdout option; this will leave a DOS window active while running Patran and you may find some more informative messages there. To run with -stdout, right-click on the desktop shortcut and select Properties. Add -stdout to the Target line, like so:
Thank you, in between I have found the installation option from your scree shot. I have also created a new Path name without “- , _” bat no changes. It doesn’t work and it ends with the same Error.
Yes, this is a general problem by importing geometry to new patran installation. I have tried with *.igs and *.sat and patran is producing always the same Error.
