Contact analysis problem

Hi there!! I asking a big help. I doing my master thesis with MSC Patran/Nastran and it consists in a non linear analysis because there are contact and plastic deformation. About contact I had any problem, i have been working for 1 month for that!!! I have already read the manual about this argument and I understand so much but i have problem yet! I make screenshots for each step with a very easy example for understand well this analysis. I attached the powerpoint with screenshots!!!!

Body pair is not neccessary. I prefer using contact table since there are just 2 bodies.

Sorry @Hrishikesh Phadke I have another problem, i can try to make another example with sphere and cylinder. I managed to get the deformed but I have problem with penetration. I have two question:

1) How can I delete penetration? I would like the sphere every tangent to cylinder

2) Why I can't have isomesh in this solids?

Hi,

Find the modified model, contact is working fine. db is in 2018 Patran version, I have attached the bdf as well.

I can't open this file, maybe for the version of Patran, I have this message:

There is a problem attempting to open the database you have specified.

Database Name: C:\Users\Riccardo\Desktop\contatto_sfera.db

Schema Version: PATRAN_3_19

Last Used On Platform: Windows 64-bit

Acknowledge this message for possible further information about why this database cannot be opened.

Is there any way to open this file??

As mentioned earlier, the db is in 2018 version, you need 2018 or later Patran versions to open the file. However you can import the bdf in older Patran, or submit it to Nastran solver.

Yeah for that I think the problem is about the version. I can try with your bdf and I look that the sphere doesn't work with cylinder, or better there isn't any contact between them.

I can try to do a very easier example with a circle and a rectangle, all in 2D for analyze better the contact. And as you can see, the penetration about the circle and the other shell it is evident. With your example I don't understand because the sphere doesn't went aginst cylinder.
