I'm having trouble with Slope of lines created from points at Basic diameters. The picture shows 4 points ( E,F,G AND H ) all located on Basic diameters. The slope call out appears to be asking slope of each line to Datum -A-, which is the top plane, Z axis of part. I have taken these points at the specified basic diameters, created lines from these points, but the results are 0.297 inches. I know I'm doing something wrong.
Any help is appreciated. Will provide more info if needed.
Greg.
Scan the sides of the tab, between E and F (one scan) and between G and H (one scan).
Create a line profile evaluation, select the two scans and evaluate accordingly.
vpt.se,
Thanks, I can only take touch points. So I have the lines created, is that what you mean by Create a line evaluation? And are you saying select both lines together and report to Datum -A-?
Thanks again, Greg.
No, scan the two surfaces, this will create two scans. Do not create lines. Open up the line profile evaluation and select the two scans, set up the FCF as shown on drawing and hit "create" or "OK".
I assume you have CAD and have clicked the surfaces in the graphics window to create the scan.
I cannot scan the surface, only take points. This is really stumping me. You say, do not create lines and I'm lost now honestly. I'm using PC-DMIS 2011MR1.
that does not 'compute'. STEP (and IGES) are pretty much 'generic' cad files. IF you are trying to add an existing PCDMIS.CAD file that was made from STEP file, and it was done in a new version, then you would get that error. You should be able to IMPORT the original STEP file without any issue. I can import STEP (and IGES) files that were exported from 2022 CAD packages in Pcdmis V3.7 (almost 20 years old) without any issues.
