Beer

Before anyone begins making allegations, the Beer thread was not deleted on purpose.

While cleaning up old off-topic threads I inadvertently missed excluding that one. As a way to make up for it, I've reinstated the rep points.

  • Want to make your own "Buffalo Style Wings"? Get a big jar of Frank's Red Hot Sauce. Put the wings in a large freezer bag. Pour in a few cups of the sauce and put in the fridge over night. Roll them in flour and deep fry.
No need for more sauce, they are excellent. I think the friend that gave me that got it from Emeril. Might be on his website.
She used to make these out at the campground. And homemade potato chips that were awesome. People would see the deep fryer out on the picnic table in front of her camper and come over to get some.
Great Lakes Eliot Ness Vienna Lager goes really well with those wings.

    I'm hungry now.

That would be Hooters wings, I think they use flour. There is no flour in Buffalo wings. Most places just toss the fried wings in Durkee Red hot and melted butter.
  • I love hot wings.. but they no longer like me. Not many places here that have wings but hooters.. Now the bar right up the street from me has some great Garlic wings...mmmmm

I believe at one time it was on the back of the bottle of Frank's. Now I know will try this especially the great lakes been awhile since I have had the Elliot Ness. Rolling eyes
  • I don't have a deep fryer. I cook mine on the grill without sauce. The sauce consists of melted butter and hot sauce and the key ingredient - cornstarch. As soon as the wings come off the grill they go in the sauce hot. The heat sets the cornstarch to thicken the sauce in the immediate vicinity of the wing so it sticks better.

My personal belief is that wings are good for you. I say eating hot stuff is good for you and the benefit of the hot sauce counteracts the butter. If I repeat it often enough it has to be true! Hey, it works for an unnamed leader of a particular country! Smiley
  • There is a place here called "wings ect".....have about 35 different kinds of sauce....9 bucks for 15 wings......man i love that place espically when drinking & watching football

They're a chain scattered about. There are a few around here including downtown Cleveland. Punch 'em up on the web to see if they're near you.
