I am using a "T" calibration tool with one sphere towards the front and one towards the back. I need to calibrate A90B0 & A90B180. How do I go about doing this? Thanks for your help and I will attach a picture as soon as I can. Using PC-DMIS 2014.
If using multiple probes on your CMM (either in a rack or manually changed) decide on one probe (short stylus with a big tip if available) to be your MASTER probe.
This is the only probe you ever use to take a manual hit on the ref sphere(s) after answering Yes, the sphere has moved. i.e. the sphere's must both be defined by T1A0B0 of the same probe.
After that you can qualify any tip you want on any sphere (as long as physically possible) answering 'No, sphere has not moved.'
If you only have one probe / module - then by default this is your MASTER probe - use T1A0B0 to define the sphere positions with this tip, then qualify the A90Bxx tips on whichever sphere is most suited.
Do I need to add the tool with 2 spheres? Whoever added the tool added as two separate tools instead of one tool.
No, it's good as it it.
Select master probe, then select sphere 1, teach its position with the master probe (i.e. Qualify T1A0B0 of master probe saying Yes, sphere has moved)
Now select sphere 2 and repeat (i.e. Qualify T1A0B0 of master probe saying Yes, sphere has moved)
Both sphere positions are now defined with the same tip so should relate correctly to one another.
Rotate your tree 90º(physically and as a 'new' tool description in probe calibration dialogue), 1 sphere will be able to be used to perform the A90B0/180 calibration.

NB solution works fine if you need both spheres.
Remember you are calibrating your tips not the sphere If you calibrate your tips once the tool positions are defined with the master probe, each time you move the sphere, you need to re-define the position, again, with your master probe saying the sphere has moved, then calibrate the tip you need.
The ideal situation, is that you define your sphere positions then calibrate all your probes without moving the sphere.
If you rotate the sphere, say from Y to X axis, make a new sphere with the new vector, then define this sphere position, again, with the master probe.
