73 mm OOT... I don't think about calibration, I would check the program and the CAD.
Try to take some vector points on the part, and look at the T value.
Check also the tip you're using (for example on a star probe, check you're measuring with the good one...
The tolerance should be set to at least half of the probe tip diameter. on a 2mm tip I usually go for 1.25mm
Half the tip diameter PLUS however much positive deviation you ever expect to see on that surface in the worst case. If you just do half the tip the part would need to be perfect or stock off every time.
Change the velscan to 0,5 or 1. and reduce the number of points got per mm.
Sometimes Pcdmis with the scanning features it doesn't work fine.
I always solved it with diameter of the tip, velscan ir checking the 3D model exactly the normal of this surface if it is right.
On the left, arrows seem to be ok. Do you change the tip between this part of the scan and the part where arrows are off ?

No the tip stays the same throughout the scan shown. I will have a look at the cal results asap.
What would different actual vs varying results tell me?
