Was this a physical collision between the machine and the part or just a software crash?
Software crashed and the Light on the Jogbox went out , but would not reactivate until I restarted the Controller, that is when I noticed the Shift in Home Position
Have you tried driving the machine close to the original home position (within about 50mm - be careful not to run into the hard stops) and then shutting everything down (PC-DMIS and controller) before restarting? It may just be that the homing cycle is detecting the wrong mark on the scale.
I can Only Move in X Minus about 50mm from the new Home Pos, but I can try moving as far as I can in that direction and shutting the controller down.
If you hit the E-Stop so that the motors are disengaged, can you manually push the bridge closer to the original home position? Only try to push the driven leg.
I have now tried moving it twice with no joy
Looks like you will need to call a service engineer then.
Our ME has sent a request and got a ticket number
Home pulse is via a magnetic hall sensor. it is literally traversing X- until it detects the little "N" magnet that's glued directly to the bottom of the bridge adjacent to the gold-colored readhead's scale.
If that magnet somehow got whacked, or something else that's strongly magnetic is nearby (like within a foot), it might be detecting that home pulse in the wrong spot as a result.
