Has anyone moved over to Datapage+ for reporting?

I don't know if Im missing something, but the layout is beyond confusing, Im still not sure I have the database setup correctly, it is dog slow when I have a part model on the screen, & I still have not figured out how to tell PCDMIS how to access the database. Im trying to make Dataview style reports out of it, but Im finding it next to impossible to do. Why they did away with the File...Edit...View...toolbar at the top, I dont know.

  • Jeff, sorry you have such strong feelings with this. It's difficult to keep the same UI from a product that was build in the early 90s especially if we want to add new functionality. The example I can provide is MS Windows Operating System, personally I don't like Windows Vista UI vs XP because it's something new. But I also understand why MS changed the UI; now I have Window7 and I am actually getting more familiar with how everything works now. Believe me, the transition was tough. Unfortunately, UI change is a necessary evil.

When we released DataPage+, the intention is not to have users to learn the product by themselves. No matter how easy a software product is; if you don't know how to navigate it seems difficult. We are having a Datapage+ class in West Bend WI in October. Maybe you should consider attending this course; I will be there as well to listen to users' inputs.

    Regards,
