I have a run chart layout that's already been run and the customer wants to change the tolerances. Is there any way I can do this in Datapage? Or do I have to go through pc dmis and change them point by point?
Go to the Data Editor tab. You can right click and select "Edit Variable", or in the newer versions, there is an option to show the tolerances in the first 2 columns, and you can change them there. You can also chance a block of tolerances (only if using T values, where the nominals are the same, ie, 0.000). Select all of the points you want to change, right click>Edit Variable change the tolerance and then at the bottom, there is a button that says Save "To All". Click on that and it will modify all of the selected variables.
The longer, crappier, way if you are using XML files, you can edit the XML file and re-import them.
not for sure about the "new and improved" datapage, but with the old all you need to do is either:
1) Update the tolerances in the Pcdmis program and just send the current stats to update all the tolerances in the database
or
2) Go into the editor and edit each one by hand.
Keep in mind, if the NEW version acts like the old version, as soon as you send stats from your program with the OLD tolerance, Datapage will now have the old tolerance, and you can expect to change them all again. Change them in a copy of the program, send those stats to Datapage. Yes, you will now have 2 copies of the program, but if they want to change back, use the old program, if they want to keep with the new, use that program.
