Anyone running verisurf on the cmm or equator? Pros cons?
My company is not loving or believe pcdmis is giving correct data. I hear at least 3 times a day math is math and pcdmis is not doing the math correctly.
Numbers don't lie. A person's mistake or method or approach towards something on the other hand is what I would question rather than what they say about the software's math.
math within PCDMIS uses different algorithms with dimensions and features, so maybe that's what they are referring too? choose wisely
browningdmis more context is needed. It could be user/programmer error for all we know. I've used both.
Profiles are the big one. They say 2020 r1 does not follow the standard. The cmm is not hitting normal to angled surfaces. When you use the cad model to get a nominal my measured value is to far off. Does not account for cosign error.
if the CMM is not hitting normal to an angled surface, and if the surface it is measuring is 'correct' (within 5 to 10 degrees) then it is programmed wrong.
Is the machinist actually using the primary surface as the " level " ? You see this all the time. Do 1 side of part check a hole in z then tip it on side and do the same. Well you just leveled to 2 separate surfaces. That only works in well CAD. On a real part it will not. Unless of course the surfaces are square to to each other with 0.0 error. So again. NOPE. When you explain that to them they might understand.

Matt the program is good it is hitting normal to the angle surface. Just does not add to what they belive it should be.

We're looking at Verisurf for our two Globals.
I'm evaluating Verisurf from the reverse of the OP's question.
I (somewhat) understand and trust the math that The Demon does behind the scenes.
We have no idea how Verisurf juggles the numbers.
I'm surprised at how little discussion there is around the webs about Verisurf.
Good, or bad, I would expect to find more given the software has been around 15 years now.
