Locators work well but they are a pain. You will inevitably forget to install one in your longest running hot program. You will inevitably forget to take out ALL of them at some point and lose them forever. You'll wind up being one or two short for the hot job that you've got to do. If management decides that they need to be calibratedthey're gone for a couple of weeks. Checking for chips/ burrs should be a fundamental part of the inspection process. Questioning out of tolerance results should be a fundamental part of the inspection process.
