We have a database in place etc.. But when we go to use the editor so we can get rid of some of the parts . The "Parts" section under "View" is greyed out.. We havent had any issues with this until yesterday. The system hasnt been changed at all, but all of a sudden this function doesnt want to work.. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.. Thanks ahead of time!!
Yes we do, I even selected the demo database to see if my database was messed up somehow. But i got the same results, so at this point I cant create a new database either because all of the options under file are pretty much greyed out also.
I just deleted the Xstats file and the Vista.taf file to see if that would help.. They were recreated after the reboot but things are still greyed out.
Everything is greyed out. The system is attached to a network, but we dont backup those systems seeings we have the software and usually these things arent so convoluted as this software seems to be. Having said that Im sure it will get backed up now that we realize the software is old and buggy etc.
Also for some reason and maybe this is the way it is on everyones systems, but my serial number isnt showing under "system options" in Dp Editor, but my auth code is.. if I try to enter the serial which i believe is my portlock number it doesnt allow me to add anything...
Im talking about datapage 3.24 and DP Editor.. Datapage works fine, DP Editor has all of its options greyed out. Yes windows XP! The auth key works with Datapage RT without issue and the DP Editor has worked for years with the same codes as far as I know up until 2 days ago.
Also i do get a window saying my auth code for this product is incorrect.. Now this program has worked for years, why all of a sudden would this begin to happen? We did not purchase DataView, But we did buy Datapage RT, wouldnt the editor be part of Datapage RT? Again this program has always worked for us, we create our new databases here etc... Correct me if Im wrong, im not the one who runs the software just the guy trying to help straighten it out.. Thanks again..
James, I did what you proposed and it didnt mess anything up, I could still open my database without issue... In Datapage RT itself I can pull stats off of my cape studies without issue. Its when we try to delete some of the parts that are in the database through DP Editor and or create a new database that every option is now greyed out.
If what Im saying doesnt make sense please let me know, I dont want to send anyone on a wild goose chase while your trying to help me.. Thanks Again to everyone involved!!
something has changed since DP has a portlock ID (User ID) and the editor thinks it is 0. The auth key for 0 is not the same as whatever DP has. If it is not authorized the editor does nothing (things are disabled).
You get the Not Authorized message for the Editor. This message tells you something.
Im in agreement it tells me something.. haha Should I try to reinstall the hasp drivers? This program worked up until 2 days ago. Do you have any idea of what steps I might take to resolve this? Thanks again!
