I am using an Optiv 543. Using the camera, I am trying to create a curve to use for a 2d profile. I managed to use auto profile 2d to measure a curve, but when I plug that curve into the line profile characteristic. I get no deviation, and there should be at least .001" Also the curve I did measure would have <50% point coverage on High. I would get 100% point coverage on Low.

1) Are you generating the scan from CAD? If you aren't, you'll always get zero deviation
2) Don't use the curve, just use the scan for the profile if #1 is being met.

Not sure I know what you mean by "scan"? I now have a model, but don't know how to create a scan, or a curve using the model.
I did figure out how to use a clipping plane to create curves. How do I shrink the size of the clipping plane so I don't get too much
coverage? I want to create curves in one section only.

I figured out how to generate a curve using the clipping plane (very similar to Calypso
(I managed to create the curve, using auto profile 2d, but it goes all around the part.
I want only the small area between the two black circles on the model (pictured at right)

Using an Optiv 543. I need to measure (scan) an edge to evaluate profile using the
camera. I created a curve using the clipping plane, when I open the "Auto profile
2d" and select the curve, I get the whole curve. I only need a small segment of the
curve. How do I select just the segment I want?

Circles and lines can be constructed by the "Scan segment" method, where you can give approximate start and end coordinates. Arbitrary curves can be constructed from selected hits of a scan - in 2017 and later you can click on four individual points of the scan to generate the command, and then adjust the hit numbers in the Edit Window.

Do note that the hit numbers need to be changed if you change the density of the scan!

UKCHAMP, I may be missing something here, but only until 2018R2 did they fix the 'Measurement Properties Closed' option. The NO or YES seemed to default to YES. I had several chats with Mr. Ryan about this. (he is Product Owner) Am guessing your intended scan is answered with a 'Yes'?
I cant really see your image very well, but here is an example which may or may not apply to your situation:

as (hopefully) you can see.... I have 'NO' selected. Meaning I can (hopefully) pick the desired Start-Direction-End points of my scan.
I still hold my breath with fingers crossed when using this... praying it doesn't break on me.

(edit: I used .dxf for example, but the 'open/closed' also works for me clicking on CAD as well)
