Ok, So if I write a program for an operator to use I should puyt instructions in the program on how to align? I thought there was some way you could sit a part on the table, open a program for that part, pc-dmis would say " measure cir1, cir2, pln1 and it could recall the original alignment and move it to where the part is currently sitting? Thanks for your help!
I would think if you gave the program the measurements of Datums A, B and C and aligned, then you could move the part, measure Datum A and it would know hwere B and C where located. Then it would measure B and C and align it automatically?
You could do this with a readpoint. Look at this thread.
Also search readpoint in the forum.
Basically, you place the probe near a corner or a hole, align to that and run from there.
The part has to be fairly square to the axis', but the location can vary.
